Schools & Districts 101.
How Huntington Beach's five public school districts fit together, and how to verify any address's assignments.
Five districts, one city
Huntington Beach is served by multiple elementary districts — Huntington Beach City SD, Ocean View SD, and portions of Westminster and Fountain Valley school districts — all feeding the Huntington Beach Union High School District for grades 9–12. Which district serves you depends entirely on your address, and the boundary lines do not follow neighborhood names or ZIP codes.
How to actually verify
Never rely on a listing's claimed school. Use each district's official boundary lookup, then call the school to confirm enrollment capacity for your grade levels and year. Attendance boundaries change, schools open and consolidate, and transfer policies differ by district. We link official sources on the Family Map — every school pin includes this same disclaimer for a reason.
Where the data lives
For objective information, use the California School Dashboard and CDE profiles (enrollment, programs, staffing) plus each district's own site for boundary maps, bell schedules, and TK/kindergarten enrollment windows. This site deliberately does not rate or rank schools — we show you where they are and hand you the official sources, and your family decides what fits.
